Lighting is almost impossible to photograph honestly: every catalogue shot flatters the fixture and lies about the light. We wrote a shooting rule instead of a style guide: one exposure, one room, no retouching of the beam.

Everything else in the programme follows from that constraint, and it gives the studio a body of work that looks like nobody else in the category. Two years on, the rule has outlasted three campaigns.
